A royal visit was the icing on the cake at the opening of a ground-breaking new housing development in the Midlands.
Our team organised and oversaw the event, which saw HRH The Princess Royal officially open Keyte Gardens in Wootton Wawen on 25thSeptember.
The visit was the culmination of months of work after Warwickshire Rural Housing Association, one of our longstanding clients, asked us to arrange a special launch for its new, ultra-energy efficient housing scheme.
As Warwickshire’s first low-energy development of affordable homes, we wanted it to be a very special affair so decided to invite The Princess Royal, who takes a keen interest in rural housing matters.
The royal visitor met residents, local schoolchildren, dignitaries and representatives of partners involved in bringing the community-led housing project to fruition.
She also unveiled a wooden sculpture featuring a bee design in honour of the scheme’s namesake, local beekeeper and gardener Denis Keyte.
Keyte Gardens, a development of 14 homes, has been built with the aim of achieving space heating costs which are 70% less than those for standard-construction houses.
Richard Mugglestone, Managing Director of Midlands Rural Housing, was delighted with our work to arrange, plan and oversee the event.
He said: “Thank you for all your hard work to make today the fantastic success that it was. Please pass on my thanks, and that of the board, to all your team who helped out in preparation and this morning too. It could not have gone any better. Your attention to detail is why it worked so well.”
